The 10 Canadian-facing casinos we have verified, compared for blackjack

Every row below comes from a full MrMega review of that brand. The Trust Index is our published six-pillar score out of 100, set from public data before any commercial relationship. The blackjack columns show what each casino actually publishes about its tables. Where a brand publishes nothing, the cell says Not published, because a blank beats an invented number.

One column you will not see is a per-casino blackjack RTP or “win rate”. Other Canadian lists print figures like 97.85% next to brand names with no source in sight. Blackjack does not work that way: the return is set by the rules of the specific table you sit at and by how well you play it, and we do not deposit or wager real money, so we will not dress up a guess as a measurement. What we can verify is the structure around the tables: who runs the casino, which regulator stands behind it, and what the operator publishes about its live blackjack lobby.

Table note: Trust Index figures are from our published en-CA reviews, linked in the table. “Aggregator reported” means the casino does not publish the figure and we sourced it from public listings, flagged as such in the underlying review. We publish no blackjack return we have measured ourselves, because we have measured none.

The top five for blackjack, and why they rank where they do

1. TonyBet, Trust Index 85: the only regulated blackjack room on this page

TonyBet is the one brand here registered with iGaming Ontario and the AGCO, verifiable on the iGO operator list, with a Kahnawake Gaming Commission licence for the rest of Canada. For a blackjack player that matters twice over. First, an Ontario player with a dispute at the table or the cashier has a regulator to escalate to. Second, TonyBet publishes the strongest live blackjack roster in our set: hundreds of live tables led by Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live, with Ezugi and Playtech alongside, streaming blackjack, roulette, baccarat, poker and game shows in HD. Note that the Ontario platform approves titles separately, so the exact table list differs between Ontario and the rest of Canada.

The other side: TonyBet’s Trustpilot profile sat at 1.3 out of 5 from 50 reviews at our check, with withdrawal delays the leading complaint theme. The Trust Index measures structural protection, not sentiment, and we publish both. Full review: TonyBet.

2. FestivalPlay, Trust Index 65: Evolution blackjack with real paperwork

FestivalPlay is the strongest offshore option for blackjack because its paperwork resolves and its lobby is named. The operator is NewEra B.V., Curacao company 157707, on Curacao Gaming Control Board licence OGL/2024/181/0181, a checkable number. The live casino is Evolution-led, with blackjack, roulette, baccarat, poker and game shows streamed around the clock, inside a library of close to 2,000 titles from more than 70 studios. CAD is supported with e-Transfer, iDebit and Instadebit in the cashier. Full review: FestivalPlay.

3. RoyalistPlay, Trust Index 61: a real live floor, thinner blackjack disclosure

RoyalistPlay publishes a live casino of about 100 tables from Evolution and Ezugi inside a 3,000-plus title library, and it is the most transparent brand in the offshore set on payout terms, with a published review window of about 24 hours and a cap of about C$5,000 per day. What it does not itemise is the blackjack lobby specifically, so our table says so rather than guessing a count. The operator is Next Global Era Limited, Belize company 000030447, on Anjouan licence ALSI-102310002-FI5. Not registered with iGaming Ontario. Full review: RoyalistPlay.

4. DirectionBet, Trust Index 61: RoyalistPlay’s sister, with less published

DirectionBet runs on the very same Anjouan licence, ALSI-102310002-FI5, held by the same Next Global Era Limited, so treat the pair as one relationship rather than two choices. The library is large at roughly 4,000 titles from around 60 studios, but the operator publishes nothing specific about its live blackjack tables, which is why its blackjack cells read Not published. It launched in mid-2024 and has a thin public record. Not registered with iGaming Ontario. Full review: DirectionBet.

5. BetAlright, Trust Index 58: named operator, Evolution tables, unverifiable licence

BetAlright names its operator, NovaForge Ltd, in the footer, and publishes an Evolution-led live casino covering blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game shows inside a large multi-studio library. The weakness is the permit: Anjouan is claimed but no licence number is published, so it cannot be checked against the register. Its Trustpilot profile showed 2.1 out of 5 from 22 reviews at our check. Not registered with iGaming Ontario. Full review: BetAlright.

Blackjack rules that change your return

These are game-math figures for standard rules, not measurements of any casino on this page. They are the same at every honest table in the world, which is exactly why per-brand “win rates” on other lists should make you suspicious.

RulePlayer-friendly versionVersion to avoidRoughly what it is worth
Blackjack payout3:26:5About 1.4% of return, the single biggest rule difference
Dealer soft 17Dealer standsDealer hitsAbout 0.2%
DecksFewer decksEight decksA few tenths of a percent
Double after splitAllowedNot allowedA small fraction, worth having
SurrenderLate surrender offeredNo surrenderA small fraction, worth having

Played with correct basic strategy on a friendly rules sheet, blackjack returns about 99% to 99.5%, the best of the common casino games. Played by feel, the same table can cost several times more. The practical reading: before you care which casino, care which table. Open the rules panel on the specific blackjack table, check the payout line first, and walk away from 6:5 no matter whose logo is on the lobby. Every dollar of edge you give back to a bad rule is worth more than any bonus on this page.

Live or software blackjack: who actually streams the tables

Online blackjack comes in two forms. Software blackjack is a certified random number generator dealing virtual cards, available at every brand in our set that publishes a table-games shelf. Live blackjack is a video stream from a studio with a human dealer, and here the studio matters more than the casino, because casinos do not make live blackjack, studios do.

Our corpus shows how concentrated that supply is. Evolution appears in the published or reported live lobbies of TonyBet, FestivalPlay, RoyalistPlay, BetAlright and WestAce. Pragmatic Play Live appears at TonyBet and Casea. And there is one detail no other Canadian list we fetched carries: at Casea the aggregator-sourced lobby lists Pragmatic Play Live, Playtech, Stakelogic Live and OnAir Entertainment, with Evolution absent. If you play a specific Evolution table, check it exists at the brand before you deposit, because “hundreds of live tables” does not mean the table you want.

The other consequence of concentrated supply: two casinos on the same platform are often selling you the same shelf. That is why the next section matters more than any table count.

The thing other Canadian blackjack lists will not tell you: who actually runs these casinos

Most lists present ten brands as ten independent blackjack rooms. Our corpus shows otherwise.

Four of the ten sit on the NovaForge footprint. BetAlright names NovaForge Ltd openly, a network our review work sizes at roughly 80 casinos. Glorion (full review: Glorion), WestAce and Casea run on the same platform footprint without naming an operator, and WestAce and Casea even share the same affiliate domain, lynmonkel.com. Glorion publishes an Anjouan licence number, ALSI-152406028-FI2, that we could not verify on the register, a reminder that a printed licence line is a claim until a register confirms it.

Two more, RoyalistPlay and DirectionBet, share one licence number, ALSI-102310002-FI5, held by one Belize company, Next Global Era Limited. Same company, same rules desk, same payout queue.

That leaves three genuinely independent positions: TonyBet (regulated in Ontario, Kahnawake elsewhere, operated by TonyBet OU, the Estonia-registered platform founded in 2011), FestivalPlay (NewEra B.V. on a checkable Curacao GCB licence) and Alexander (Samaki Ltd on an Anjouan licence we verified on the register, though France’s ANJ has ordered it blocked and its base currency is EUR).

Why this matters for blackjack specifically: if a brand shades its blackjack tables toward 6:5 payouts or thin weighting rules, its sister brands run on the same decisions. Checking the rules sheet once per operator, not once per logo, is the honest shortcut.

The bonus trap for blackjack players

Casino bonuses are built for slots, and the terms in our corpus say so in plain text. At TonyBet, slots usually contribute fully to wagering while table games barely count. FestivalPlay’s terms carry the same split: slots contribute fully, table games barely count. Alexander’s published terms state only slots contribute fully. And at Casea, live casino games typically count only a fraction of each wager toward the 35x deposit-plus-bonus requirement.

Run the numbers on what that means. With wagering requirements of 35x to 40x at BetAlright, 40x at RoyalistPlay and DirectionBet, and 35x plus a separate 40x free-spins line at Casea, a bonus that counts your blackjack hands at a sliver of face value can take thousands of dollars of play to clear. For a blackjack-first player the honest advice is the one bonuses are designed to stop you hearing: decline the welcome offer, play the tables with clean money, and keep the right to withdraw at any time. Every brand in our set that publishes an opt-out confirms the bonus is optional.

Brands we caution on, and exactly why

We do not run an invented blacklist. Each caution is a specific, checkable finding from our review corpus.

Casea, Trust Index 47. No recognised gambling licence is disclosed anywhere on the site and we could not resolve who runs it, so for player-protection purposes we treat it as effectively unlicensed. Its large live blackjack lobby is aggregator-reported, not operator-published, and it has no Trustpilot profile at all, so there is no public complaint record to weigh. Review: Casea.

WestAce, Trust Index 53. No operating company is disclosed, the Anjouan licence is claimed but unverifiable from any primary source, and its Evolution-led blackjack lobby is aggregator-reported. Trustpilot showed 2.0 out of 5 from 26 reviews at our check, with withdrawal delays the leading theme. Review: WestAce.

LegendPlay, Trust Index 57. The operator is named, Rabidi N.V., but France’s gambling regulator, the ANJ, has had LegendPlay on its official blocked-sites list since 18 July 2025, and the blackjack lobby is not itemised. Trustpilot showed 1.9 out of 5 from 25 reviews. Review: LegendPlay.

Alexander, Trust Index 56. A mixed file: the Anjouan licence ALSI-142406012-FI1 is one of only two offshore licences here we verified on the actual register, and the live suite including blackjack is published. But the site appears on the ANJ blocked list and runs EUR as its base currency, so a Canadian blackjack bankroll eats conversion both ways. Review: Alexander.

None of this is an accusation of wrongdoing. It is what the public record shows, and fails to show, as of our July 2026 checks.

How we verify the best blackjack casino sites for Canada

We rate from public data and the operator’s own terms, and we do not deposit or wager real money. That sentence is the whole method, and it is why our table has Not published cells where other lists have suspiciously precise ones.

For every brand on this page we read the published games and terms pages and record what the operator itself says about its blackjack and live lobbies. We check operator names against the site’s own footer and terms. We check licence claims against the primary register, the Anjouan register, the Curacao GCB record, or the iGaming Ontario operator list, and we say plainly when a claim could not be verified. We check every brand and its named sisters against France’s ANJ official blocked-sites file, 4,748 entries at our 17 July 2026 check. We capture the live sites ourselves, so the screenshots in our reviews are our own. And we log public complaint themes from Trustpilot with sample sizes attached, so you can weigh how thin they are.

What we never do: publish a per-brand blackjack RTP or win rate, present an aggregator listing as an operator fact, or rank a brand higher for paying us more. The scoring protocol is on our How We Rate page.

Best blackjack online casino Canada FAQ

Which is the best blackjack online casino in Canada?

On verifiable structure, TonyBet leads: it is the only brand in our set registered with iGaming Ontario, and it publishes the deepest named live blackjack roster, led by Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live. For the rest of Canada, FestivalPlay pairs an Evolution blackjack lobby with a licence number you can actually check.

What blackjack RTP should I expect online?

With correct basic strategy on a friendly rules sheet, about 99% to 99.5%. That is game-math for standard rules, not a property of any brand. A 6:5 payout table cuts roughly 1.4% off your return regardless of which casino hosts it, so read the table rules, not the casino marketing.

Is live blackjack better than software blackjack?

Neither pays better by nature; the rules sheet decides. Live blackjack gives you a human dealer, table chat and visible cards at a slower pace. Software blackjack deals faster and usually offers lower minimum bets. Slower hands on a same-rules table cost less per hour, which quietly favours live for budget players.

Can I play blackjack online legally in Canada?

In Ontario, yes, at casinos registered with iGaming Ontario; TonyBet is the only such brand on this page. Elsewhere in Canada players commonly use offshore sites, which operate in a legal grey area with no provincial protection, and that trade-off is exactly what our Trust Index measures.

Do casino bonuses work for blackjack?

Mostly against you. Published terms across our corpus weight table games at little or nothing toward wagering, and requirements run 35x to 40x. A blackjack-first player is usually better off declining the bonus and keeping withdrawals unlocked.

Can I count cards at online blackjack?

Software blackjack shuffles continuously, so no. Live blackjack shoes are cut deep and reshuffled often, and operators can restrict play, so counting is not a practical edge online. Basic strategy, a 3:2 table and bankroll discipline are the edges that actually survive online.

What is the safest way to try a new blackjack site?

Check the licence against the register yourself, our reviews link every source, then deposit the minimum, play a few hands, and request a withdrawal before committing a real bankroll. A casino that pays a small withdrawal promptly has passed the only test that matters. We run that check on paper for all ten brands here, and we say plainly which ones we could not verify.
